Observation task 7: Classroom management and teacher talk







Beginning and ending  the day
Punctuality at the beginning
Of the lesson
Teacher arrive before the pupils

Learners arrive all on time
Teacher’s response to
Those who are late . what dose she say?
Positive reinforcement : she tell them’’ try to came early next time ‘’

- According to the teacher  she said she don’t use negative reinforcement or punishment.
Starting the day: what does the teacher say? Do?
She said ’’Good morning girls how are you today “

Do: she gives them a story and let them read for 10 min
Lining up : location
Outside class
Teacher instructions for lining up :
What does she say ? do?
She said ”I’m waiting for all of you lining up quickly and quietly ‘’
Do: she helps them to make a Straight line.
Ending the day : what does the teacher say? do?
She said” thank you girls  have a nice day / weekend
Moving
Moving the children for an activity
What does she say? Do?
She said: ‘’ I want each group for example group 1 stand up , push your chairs and move quietly like a butterfly”
Moving the children how do they respond ?
They listen to her and start to move quietly.
Misbehavior
What was the learner doing ?
Talking with each others , sometimes walking around the classroom.
What did the teacher say? Do?
She yelling on them and tell them to be quiet and if someone keep talking she not let her go to the break .
How did the child respond
They become quiet and listen to teacher carefully
How does the teacher stop the children at the end of an activity ? what does she say? Do?
She said” but your pencils down/ whatever they hold  , close your books and listen to my instructions .
